American Mah Jongg Sydney was founded by Anne Schwartz and Lisa Filler and their committee, who saw interest in American Mah Jongg grow rapidly across Sydney from 2019 onwards. What started as a shared love of the game turned into a mission: build a welcoming, well-run club where beginners could learn and experienced players could always find a game — all while giving back.

As a not-for-profit organisation, everything we do is in service of that mission. Profits from lessons, cards and events go straight to charity, so growing the club means growing our impact too.
